Keeping Afghan Children Warm

Becky Mohr displays the afghans she created.

In 2008, five Afghan children are keeping warm, wrapped in heavy wool afghans crocheted by Becky M., a member of our Knitting and More group.

We sent the blankets off to afghans-for-Afghans (a4A), a non-profit group that works out of the American Friends Service Committee office in San Francisco. a4A then sent them by air to a humanitarian organization in Afghanistan, where they were distributed to children receiving medical treatment.

This congregation project was sponsored by Sue W., John B., and John D., and with donations of yarn from Megan H.  and Lara R. (beloved of Steven H..

The project sponsors hold up the afghans.

Thank you, Becky, for your wonderful gift of love in the name of our congregation!

Thank you, sponsors, for making this project possible.
