Rummage Sale

The UCD holds a rummage sale every June. (Check the calendar for this year's date.) This one-day sale draws in people from the surrounding area to enjoy a wide range of items temporarily filling our community room and lounge. Proceeds benefit the church and unsold items are donated to the Salvation Army. Many members of the church pitch in to advertise, donate, sort and price, sell, and wrap up. It's a fun event for our church and our shoppers!

In the early 1960s, church members held the rummage sale in a small room downtown. The church was "out in the boonies" then, and the board wasn't confident many people would attend. However, church members convinced the board to try it at church just once. It was a big success and streams of cars were reported going up the hill.  The sale was held twice a year for many years, but now is an annual event.
 

For next year's sale, make sure donations are clean and in working condition.
